Body Piercing Diploma
This course is offered at Purple Ink Tattoo & Piercing Studio based in Ramsgate, Kent which is a Fully Licensed Modern Studio and only one hour and a half from London. The course includes step by step guidance and personal training either one-to-one or a small group, (group discounts available), and a comprehensive course reference guide. Purple Ink offer excellent teaching with our qualified teacher Purple Susan Wimbush BA Hons (Fine Art) PGCE, and take pride that our trainees receive instruction both in the classroom and in a fully working studio. This instruction provides theoretical and practical observational experiences necessary to qualifying as a Body Piercer.
Foundation
The aim of our four day course is to give a comprehensive guide on how to implement successfully a number of popular piercings (above the waist only), such as eyebrows, earl, madonna, labret, tongues, belly, bite piercings and various ear piercings. The course is designed for both novices and those with some experience of piercing. The course provides both theoretical and practical experience for potential employment in a Licensed Studio, and covers techniques, COSHH requirements, Health & Safety, studio practice, inoculation requirements, first Aid requirements, wholesale and Trade suppliers as well as practical experience of cannula piercings and gun piercings. We also encourage our students to start building their own portfolio during the course and give comprehensive advice on how to manage this.
Advanced
The Advanced Diploma is a one day top up course covering more advanced piercings such as Dermal, surface and genital and more complex ear piercings. The course is ideal for those wanting to learn the art of body piercing and is certificated on completion as a ‘Fully Qualified Piercer’. The certificate is recognised and required by local councils. Purple Ink Tattoo and Piercing Studio is the only Piercing Academy in Kent to be fully recognised as an approved training academy. Please note that it is illegal to pierce a person anywhere other than on premises specifically licensed for that purpose. Penalties are severe.

The price includes a comprehensive all inclusive course pack. You may be able to receive Government Funding to complete the course. Disclaimer: Purple Ink does not guarantee that by completing one of our courses, students will necessarily qualify for an actual job as a professional tattoo art or body –piercing. However Purple Ink will offer instruction to help students achieve their objective. Purple Ink demonstrates to potential employers a high standard of ability of professionalism. Please note that accommodation is not included in the price of any of the courses however there is accommodation available nearby. Please ask for details.
